Who needs humor today? I shared a new song yesterday. I also sent the video to my sister in law on the Slack phone app, since she doesn't use Facebook. She was shocked by the automated transcript of the song. For your amusement, here is the automated transcript of my vocal, along with the original lyrics:
Verse 1- This song is, what are you doing?
(What are you doing, God?) You too understand (I don't understand) I'm good. (I'm going nowhere fast.) First muster the blood. (You must have a plan.) Why am I? (Why am I here?) What is my job? (What is my job?) Are you kidding here in the dark? (Why are you keeping me here in the dark?) Do I have a task? (Do I have a task?) What is your plan like this waiting? (What is your plan? I don't like this waiting) I don't understand ( I don't understand) What am I? (Why am I here?)
Chorus- Because close and different war (Jesus, I am your servant, You hold me close.) This car, Mike your grace. (Jesus, You are enough.) I stand your deer and the car right here beside me and the duck. (Jesus, hold me close and I am safe and warm) I trust you (In Your Love.)
Verse 2- My God called it. (Trouble is coming, God. It's part of your plan.) Take care. (It might be a lonely road.) Grace is sufficient. (But in your grace I stand.) Bye buddy. (I know You're here- You're here and not far) 10. (You're right here beside me, here in the dark) Send my soul your supreme. (I trust you my God) My mhm. (with all that I am) The clothes with us. (Your grace is sufficient) Bobby make laws (Wherever I am) You can walk close (I'm glad You're here)
Bridge- You already know close and die (Jesus- light in my darkness Jesus- Keeper of Dreams Jesus- Peace in my sorrow) You can Mr. (As long as I breathe, I praise Your name)
WOW. Hahahahahahah! So I guess we are not in danger of the robots taking over just yet?
Honestly, this reminds me of my feeble attempts to speak Russian. The native Russian speaker has a general feel for what I am trying to communicate, but the details are lost. (Am I right, Tatyana Tariverdi?) Much patience is required of the listener, just like parents listening to their toddler learn to speak. The listener must stretch their imagination a bit.
This is why I find it helpful to use multiple Bibles when studying a passage. Either in physical form, or with a phone app. Different translators take the same source material, but interpret it with a different nuance. Try it some time! It may challenge your thinking. It can be fun! And you just might learn something new about God in the process.
Peace Out.
